Our approach uniquely combines the latest scientific reading practices with a deep social-emotional component. This blend honors the whole reader and has successfully guided over 400 students to achieve their literacy dreams. We specialize in supporting all learners, including those with dyslexia.

Our founder has completed advanced coursework in dyslexia through Yale University, giving her a deep, research-backed understanding of how dyslexic learners process language and what they truly need to thrive. She has experience delivering interventions based on the Orton-Gillingham Methodologies.
Instruction Based on Structured Literacy
Word Waves Literacy's instruction is grounded in an approach that is based on instruction provided in a program that was specifically endorsed by the International Dyslexia Association, the same evidence-based framework that leading researchers agree works best for struggling readers. Our founder is endorsed in reading and has passed the Illinois State Reading Specialist Test.
